A better tomorrow – assume responsibility!

CSR-Kreisgrafik

For us, assuming responsibility means working on the questions that we will need to answer today and tomorrow. This is particularly true wherever our actions impact people and the environment.

“A better tomorrow “– assuming responsibility. This principle drives us to fulfill our promise of quality once again every day. We are making Lidl fit for the future while keeping our eye on the entire value added chain. A future that is in harmony with the environment, that puts people at the center of our actions and that contributes to more sustainable consumption. Our vision is to have most sustainable assortment at the best price.

“Good for the planet,” “good for people” and “good for you” describe this position.

We are already putting this promise into practice today with our six focus topics “respecting biodiversity”, “protecting climate”, “conserving resources”, “acting fairly”, “promoting health”, and “engaging in dialog”. Regional and global. Committed and transparent.

We are convinced that entrepreneurial success can only last in harmony with respect for human rights and environmental standards. We therefore take our corporate responsibility to respect human rights and environmental standards seriously.  Through a risk-based management approach, human rights as well as environmental risks can be identified, addressed through appropriate preventive measures and, if a risk occurs, corrected through appropriate remedial action.

Despite our efforts, the diversity of our business activities and our complex international supply chains can mean that social and environmental risks are not identified in good time and lead to grievances. In order to fulfill our corporate duty of care in these cases as well, we have established several reporting channels through which indications of violations of human rights or environmental obligations or risks in this regard can be reported to us.

Policy statement on Lidl's human rights strategy

We have drawn up a declaration of principles in which we commit to respecting human rights and environmental standards in all areas of our business activities. The contents of the policy statement describe our position and approach to dealing with environmental and human rights risks.
