Together for a future worth living.

At Lidl, people are at the center of everything we do. Our daily actions follow a clear promise: with everything we do, we aim to create a better life for our customers, our employees and people. The way we work together is shaped by mutual respect and a strong sense of connection. We rely on a culture of trust and down-to-earth thinking, where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to our shared success through their performance.

Externally, we translate these values into a clear promise to our customers. We strive for quality and simplicity to make everyday life noticeably easier. At the same time, we take on social responsibility. In all 31 countries where we operate, we work together with our partners to promote fair working conditions. At the same time, we aim to make a good life affordable for everyone: healthy nutrition should not be a luxury. That is why sustainable alternatives at Lidl do not cost more than conventional products. We are driving this progress forward through continuous, open dialogue with customers, partners, policymakers and society.

A discounter by conviction

Simplicity as a recipe for success

At Lidl, we have a clear vision: we want to be the first choice – offering the highest quality at the best price. As a discounter, we focus on what matters most: efficient processes, lean structures and a carefully selected assortment. Whether through low prices that make high quality accessible to everyone or through our social commitment, our goal is to bring meaning and purpose to everything we do. In this way, we create a foundation of trust and reliability that makes life a little easier, better and more worth living. This is the basis of our strong market position and decades of success.

Diversity is our strength

Together, the companies of Schwarz Group actively shape the path toward a future worth living. Many of our private label products and packaging – such as mineral water and soft drinks, chocolate, dried fruit, baked goods, honey, spreads, coffee, pasta or ice cream – come directly from Schwarz Produktion. PreZero promotes a functioning circular economy through its waste management solutions and invests in a cleaner future. Schwarz Digits, as the Group’s IT and digital division, delivers powerful digital products and services that meet high German data protection standards, ensuring maximum digital sovereignty. Lidl and Kaufland together form the pillars of food retail and are an integral part of everyday life for customers in 32 countries.

Success story

From the first store to a global player

Since 1973, Lidl has defined the quality discount sector, standing for value-conscious shopping. However, the company’s history goes back much further – to the Schwarz merchant family in the 18th century.

Achieving more together

Trust, responsibility and connectivity form the foundation of our global partnerships. As a reliable partner, we maintain continuous dialogue with our suppliers, business partners and external stakeholders – transparent, fair and with a long-term perspective.

Dialogue at eye level

Close exchange with the suppliers of our key private labels such as Freeway, Milbona or Cien is a given for us. Together, we aim to create transparency, strengthen responsibility along the supply chain and grow in partnership. We place particular emphasis on long-term relationships, clear standards and open dialogue about challenges and opportunities.

Partners for responsible supply chains

Global supply chains present complex challenges for both the environment and people – from biodiversity and resource protection to fair incomes. Lidl addresses these together with strong partners in the environmental and social sectors, who contribute expertise, clear standards and critical guidance. In this way, Lidl works to identify risks early, drive improvements and make progress along the supply chain measurable – step by step and in dialogue with all stakeholders.

Sports Partnerships

Sport connects people, motivates them to be active and contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Lidl actively supports this idea – as the majority owner of the Lidl-Trek cycling team, and as the first strategic partner of UEFA and sponsor of major UEFA football competitions, as well as the European and World Handball Championships. At the same time, we see sport as a societal platform to promote values such as fairness, team spirit and equal opportunities.
